BaghdadiLaw’s experience in unpaid wages in Saudi Arabia

BaghdadiLaw brings nearly seven decades of legal practice, since its founding in 1957, to wage claims, with practical knowledge of establishing agreed pay and work performed and reconciling entitlement with actual payment. A Saudi claim for delayed salary payments, withheld wages or unpaid monthly salaries should identify each unpaid period and wage component. A short payment, disputed deduction and missing salary are different accounting problems. The contract’s current enforcement status also matters: some qualifying Qiwa wage obligations can follow an execution route without first obtaining a judgment on the debt.

Labour Law wage rules govern entitlement for covered workers. HRSD’s executive-contract initiative provides a distinct route for qualifying documented wage obligations; it does not turn every allowance dispute, damages claim or undocumented promise into an execution instrument. As of 19 September 2026, the replacement Enforcement Law published on 1 May 2026 is not yet effective: Article 65 provides commencement 180 days after publication. Assess Qiwa wage-clause eligibility under the applicable initiative and check execution-date transitional rules separately; the replacement text is not proof of present eligibility. A bank transfer must be allocated to the period it paid. An advance, expense reimbursement or delayed salary can otherwise be counted against the wrong month and distort the claim.

We agree the work your matter needs: Request a reconciled payroll correction, assess direct execution eligibility or prepare the labour claim for amounts requiring determination. Keep undisputed salary separate from contested extras. The deliverable is agreed for your file: A month-by-month wage reconciliation, deduction issue list and assessment of executive-contract versus labour-claim routes.

Common questions

Before requesting advice on unpaid wages in Saudi Arabia

Must every unpaid salary claim start with a labour lawsuit?

No single route fits every contract. Check whether the Qiwa contract uses the executive model and whether the wage obligation meets the applicable conditions. Disputed amounts outside that route may require the appropriate labour dispute process.

Can cash payments be credited?

Provide receipts and identify the period and purpose. A disputed cash-payment assertion needs evidence; it should neither be ignored nor accepted without checking.

What if the employer promises payment next month?

Preserve the acknowledgement and distinguish the admitted balance from any disputed items. A payment promise does not prove payment has occurred.
